About Jacob Lundquist Design:

Jacob Lundquist

Founder, Creator, Designer, and Maker

I was born and raised in northern Minnesota and recently moved to the big city of Minneapolis.  With a Bachelor’s of Science in Design, I have been an Industrial Designer, CNC Machinist, Manufacturing Engineer for nearly 20 years. I have always had a knife; first was a Swiss Army Knife given to me when I was young.  Despite cutting myself immediately, I was hooked. Since then, I can’t remember a time where I did not have a pocket knife.  Established officially June of 2021...Qvist Bladeworks LLC was born! Now I want to design and make more EDC items, custom knives, production runs, and more to come...this is why Jacob Lundquist Design was created.  Design Collaborations really open up the EDC word, I can be more free to experiment and design more than just knives.  Let the FUN begin!

Warranty and Return Information:

PRODUCTION KNIFE WARRANTY

We extend a limited lifetime warranty to the original purchaser of our tools. All Qvist Bladeworks products are guaranteed against any manufacturing defects in materials and construction. Any product that we determine to be defective will be repaired or replaced at our discretion. This guarantee becomes void if the tool has been abused beyond normal application, or has been used for tasks beyond its intended function. This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, rust, lack of maintenance, damage due to improper use, or structural modification. If you do have an issue with your tool, contact us and we will work with you to take care of your situation.

Design Collaborations warranties will be under the OEM the project is manufactured.  This is for all JLD (Jacob Lundquist Design) projects.

CUSTOM KNIFE WARRANTY

Custom knives are warranted against defects in materials and workmanship. My knives are intended for cutting and are guaranteed against defects under normal use. If you find an issue under normal use, I will repair or replace your knife. The warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, incorrect usage, neglect, abuse, or modifications. See Below:

Loose screw. All hardware, including pivot, or body that has loosened overtime is considered normal wear-and-tear. For maintaining your knife the included T15 and T8 drivers can be used. It is recommended to use a small amount of BLUE loctite for the pivot screw.

Cosmetic damage. Any scratch, finish trails, or coating that will naturally wear is not considered a defect.

Custom parts or modifications. Any use of aftermarket parts or components.

Dis assembly damage. Any functional failure, damage to screws, or cross threaded part due to dis assembly. Including but not limited to lock bar removal (do not remove the lock bar). I can't be held responsible for how it goes back together again.

Damage caused by excessive use. This is referring to any aggressive action such as slamming blade open or closed, rapid opening, swatting blade open with excessive force. Our knives are designed to be opened and then used as a cutting tool.

Manually pushing lock bar. The lock bar will land naturally on the lock face when opening the blade. Pushing or squeezing the lock bar further intentionally into the lock face may cause damage and will void the warranty.

Blade or sheath clip damage. Tip breakage, chips, or scratches are not covered under warranty. I do not recommend any prying with any knife. Normal wear-and- tear is not covered including sheath clip damage from snagging or contacting a stationary object such as steering wheel, seat belt, or chair etc. Be mindful, these are very robust clips but still be careful please.

Debris. Any build up of material that alters the function of the knife. Such as dust, sand, lint, string, gunk, sticky substances, or any foreign material in general.

Upgraded Models. I am continuously upgrading or creating new versions of my knives. However, I do not offer trade ins or exchanges under any circumstance.

All knives go through a thorough quality inspection before packaged and shipped.

RETURNS AND REFUNDS POLICY: Custom Knives

If you are not happy with your knife for any reason, please send it back within 5 days of receipt in its original condition and I will refund your money less the shipping cost. A refund will be issued once I receive the knife and it is confirmed to be in new condition. This is designed to remove some of the uncertainty when purchasing custom knives. I am confident and hopeful when you receive a knife from me you are happy with it.
